Our Sincere Sympathy to the family of Robert W. "Bob" Freiermuth

Robert W. “ Bob” Freiermuth, a longtime businessman from Hastings died unexpectedly at home on Monday morning, June 25, 2018 at the age of 89.

Robert William, the son of Columbus Sr. and Mary (Biskupski) Freiermuth was born June 27, 1928, in New Trier, Minnesota.  He attended school in New Trier and worked on the family farm until his marriage to Irma Schiller on November 25, 1948.  Bob had worked as a carpenter until 1960, when he began Bob Freiermuth Sanitation.  He passed on the business to his son, Bob Jr. in 1993 and continued to be involved until his death.  His commitment to his family and work gave him purpose, happiness and success throughout his life.  Bob enjoyed deer hunting, traveling, golf, cards and games, but his first love was Irma, their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Bob spent many days with his family and friends between their homes in Arizona, their Wisconsin cabin and here in Hastings.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother and sister in law, Columbus George “Sonny” and Rosie Freiermuth, brother, Bill Freiermuth, and brothers in law, Leo Otto and Ray Brochman.

Bob is survived by his wife Irma; children, Bob (Dianne) Freiermuth Jr., Linda (Wes) Ask, Sandy (Alan) Blankenship, Luann (Ben) Tims and Susan (Paul) Beskau; also 16 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren; siblings, Lorraine (Lawrence) Werner, MaryAnn Otto, Rosalie (Gerald) Rother; Edward (Cindy) Freiermuth, Dorothy Brochman, Donny Freiermuth and sister in law, Anita Freiermuth.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 30, 2018, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Miesville, with Father Terry Beeson and Father Leonard Siebenaler concelebrating.  Following a luncheon reception, interment will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery in New Trier.

Visitation will be held 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening, and will continue one hour prior to the Funeral Mass Saturday morning, ALL AT CHURCH.

In lieu of flowers, family requests memorials be directed to the Miesville Fire Department.
