Our Sincere Sympathy to the family of Florence Kocur

Florence Marie (Marty) Kocur, born February 16, 1928 in St. Paul, MN, died peacefully at home surrounded by her children March 5, 2019, at 8:15 a.m.

Florence attended St. Paul Cathedral Grade School and Monroe High School, graduating class 1946, growing up on West 7th Street. She married Joseph Kocur July 15, 1950, and were married 31 years. Joseph died October 15, 1981.

Florence was a devoted homemaker, raising 5 children: Pamela (Kris) Jenson, Susan (Randy) Wedrickas, John (Patti) Kocur, Linda Kocur and Joseph (Terry) Kocur. She is also survived by her 9 loving grandchildren: Andrew (Lisa) Jenson, Mike (Beth) Jenson, David (Kelsey) Jenson, Joseph (Samantha) Jenson, Paul (Whitney) Jenson, Ryan (Clare) Wedrickas, Abby Wedrickas, Jennifer and Angela Voth. She has 13 great-grandchildren, Josephine, Johnathan, Jaclyn, Jakob, Jeffrey, Luke, Adam, Liam, Piper, Kendall, Hailey, Belle, Everell and baby (all Jensons); 1 brother, Richard Marty and many nieces and nephews.

Florence was preceded in death by parents Albert and Marie (Grimsrud) Marty, brother Harold (Rosemary) Marty, Audrey Marty and great-granddaughter Aurora Jenson.

After living in the St. Paul area for 20 years, Joseph and Florence moved to a farm in Welch in 1970. She was an active parishioner and a member of the Rosary Society at St. Joseph’s Church in Miesville. She enjoyed spending time, baking and cooking for her family and especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also loved traveling, relished her time with friends and volunteered with DARTS. Florence was always proud to be a St. Paul girl.

Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 9, 2019, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Miesville, with Father Terry Beeson officiating. Interment will immediately follow at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, Miesville.

Visitation will be held at church from 9:00 am – 11:00 a.m. Saturday morning.

Arrangements are being completed by Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings.
